Airsoft: Springers vs. Electric
Airsoft is sort of like paintball but without the mess of paint and without the fake looking guns. Being an avid “airsofter” myself, I enjoy playing with all sorts of airsoft rifles. Although I own both an electric and spring powered rifles, I mostly enjoy using my electric rifle. Electric rifles use batteries instead of springs to propel the BB’s. Although spring guns may shoot hard and accurate, they cannot match the rate-of-fire of an electric rifle. Electric rifles range from anywhere from between $40-$2000. Of-course the more pricey models come with more bells and whistles, the cheaper guns can get the job done just fine. Spring airsoft guns are good for the weekend warrior or the person just looking into starting the sport. They are easy to operate and easy to maintain, as well as being cheap. They teach the basics of airsoft. Although they may be inferior to electric rifles, they are a lot of fun for the marskman or the courageous. Airsoft is an awesome team building sport. It teaches people to work together as a team instead of as individuals. I would highly recommend the action sport because it is addictive, fun to play, easy to learn and a complete BLAST!
